Our proposal of value; Fanox webinar about SELF-POWERED RELAYS / Applications and Operations

As a result of the situation we are living, during these last weeks, as we were no longer able to offer our training in companies, we have organized an online masterclass.

In the webinar we made available to our interlocutors the experience of more than 20 years developing SELF-POWERED protections for MT.
The concept of supply means that the auxiliary voltage is not necessary to supply the relay, which is supplied by the energy obtained from the line it is protecting.

We review the advantages of the Fanox Self-powered relays, we talked about their operation and we were able to interact with our participants and clarify the doubts that arose in this regard.

We reviewed the technical characteristics of the self-powered relays and their easy installation and operation, analyzing all their functions. We also developed a section where we talked about their main applications and which facilities are currently operating successfully.

FANOX SELF-POWERED RELAYS ADVANTAGES SUMMARY:

  • External trip input without auxiliary supply.
  • Non-volatile memory to save the information permanently. The internal battery available in some models is only used to set the relay and to check information. If this battery is removed, the relay works and trips in the same way as if the battery is included. This is, the battery does not participate in the relay´s functionality.
  • Self-powered relays with functions and communications typical of advanced relays: all the functionality is available on self-powered mode without the necessity of any additional devices.
  • Several settings groups: allowing the user to have separated settings for maintenance tasks and normal operation.

Dual  & Self  Powered Overcurrent and Earth Fault Protection  Relay for Secondary Distribution

  • Self-powered and Dual Powered (Self+Vaux).
  • Self-powering through Specific Current Transformers fitted on the lines. These CTs are also used to obtain current measurements.
  • Self-powering from:
    • 3.2 A (Primary).
  • With internal commissioning battery.
  • Non-volatile RAM memory stores up to 100 events and 4 fault reports, even without power supply maintaining date and time thanks to its internal RTC (Real Time Clock).
  • Compact size and lightweight, easy to install, and cost-saving.
  • Self-powered and Dual Powered (Self+Vaux).
  • Uses the operating current through three /1 standard Current Transformers fitted on the lines requiring less than 2 VAs. These CTs are also used to obtain current measurements.
  • Self-powered from:
    • Single-phase: 160 mA.
    • Two-phase: 100 mA.
    • Three-phase: 75 mA.
  • With internal commissioning battery.
  • Non-volatile RAM memory stores up to; 10 Oscillographic records in COMTRADE format (1 second) 1024 events and 20 fault reports, even without power supply maintaining date and hour thanks to its internal RTC (Real Time Clock).
  • Compact size and lightweight, easy to install, and cost-saving.
