Firmware Communications and Cybersecurity Engineer

Are you interested in developing embedded firmware and secure communications for electronic equipment?

In this role, you will work on the development of firmware and industrial communications for protection and control equipment, applying protocols such as IEC61850 or Modbus, along with cybersecurity knowledge. You will be part of Fanox’s R&D team, collaborating on multidisciplinary projects.We are looking for candidates with a degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, with 4–5 years of experience in real-time embedded development, strong proficiency in C, and a good level of English.

Are you interested in helping ensure that electrical protection equipment operates with precision and reliability?

In this role, you will be part of Fanox’s Applications Department, where you will be responsible for equipment validation, fault analysis, and participation in certification processes, ensuring the reliability and quality of our solutions. You will also provide technical support and take part in technical training.We are looking for a candidate with a degree in Industrial Engineering (specializing in electrical or automation engineering), more than 5 years of experience in electrical protection systems, and a good level of English. Knowledge of power grids, protection relays, and testing equipment will be considered an asset.

Are you motivated by working on communication protocol validation in a technological environment?

In this role, you will be responsible for specifying and validating the communication protocols of our equipment, leading certifications in external laboratories, and participating in homologation processes with electric utilities and OEMs. You will also deliver training sessions and provide both internal and external technical support.
To succeed in this position, you will need a background in Industrial Engineering (Electrical or Control/Automation specialization) or Telecommunications, more than 5 years of experience in electrical protection systems, and solid knowledge of communication protocols used in electrical substations. We are looking for someone with a good command of English and availability to travel. Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity will be considered a plus.
