Lift protection

A fundamental aspect for the safety and correct operation of an elevator is to ensure that the electrical installation is protected against problems caused by phase asymmetries or a missing phase or reversal of the phase sequence, and to ensure that the motor operates within the established load limits. Also the air temperature of the machine room or of the control panel must be kept within the limits established by the EU Directive for Lifts, to guarantee the correct operations of the items installed there.

Fanox has relays specifically developed to cover these requirements.

The T2 relay monitors the air temperature in the machine room or the control panel, according to standard EN81-1. Two potentiometers allow the temperature limits to be adjusted to between minimum limits of -5ºC to +5ºC and maximum limits of +40ºC to +55ºC. The T2 is suitable for installation in lifts with and without a machine room.

The S phase control relay protects against asymmetries, missing phases and phase sequence inversion.

ST and GL relays are available for motor protection. The first of these detects asymmetries, phase loss and phase sequence reversal and motor overtemperature by means of PTC sensors. The GL relay is a current relay which is equipped for protection against overload with thermal memory, blocked rotor, asymmetry and phase loss, incorrect phase sequence and overtemperature by means of PTC sensor.
